EDWARD E. BALL, KCT GRAND COMMANDER 2011 - 2012
Edward E. Ball was born in Parkersburg WV, the son of Betty A. (Fox)
Ball and the late Everett E. (Gene) Ball. He is a graduate of
Williamstown High School and West Virginia University.
He holds a B.Sc. Chemistry from WVU. He is married to Sandra L. (Smith)
Ball and resides at 200 Beacon Drive, Weirton, WV.
Ed and Sandy have been married 38 years. They both enjoy fishing and
spend as much time as possible at their fishing camp in the Leesville
Lake region of Carroll County Ohio. Ed and Sandy attend the Paris
Presbyterian Church, Paris, PA. Ed is employed by Bayer MaterialScience
LLC (formerly Mobay Chemical).
For the past 32 years, Ed has worked in polymers R&D at Bayer’s
North American Headquarters located near Pittsburgh PA.
He is currently Manager of Applications Development, Insulation
Systems, Polyurethanes Business Unit.
Ed holds several patents and has published many technical papers
related to his work in the field of rigid polyurethane foam insulating
materials research and development. Prior to joining Bayer, Ed worked
for Albany International Corp. and Borg Warner Chemicals. A Past
Commander of Weirton Commandery No. 30, he is currently serving as
Recorder. Ed was elected to the office of Grand Recorder of the Grand
Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of West Virginia in 2002. He
served in that office for three years and was awarded the honor and
distinction of being named Knight Commander of the Temple by Sir Knight
Kenneth Fisher, Most Eminent Grand Master of the Grand Encampment
Knights Templar USA, during that time. At the May 2005 Annual Conclave
of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of WV of the he
was appointed and installed Grand Warder by Sir Knight Roger D. Linger,
Grand Commander. Ed progressed through the Officer Line and was elected
and installed Grand Commander at the 138th Annual Conclave of the Grand
Commandery Knights Templar of the State of WV held in Weston WV. He has
also served as State Editor of the WV Supplement for the Knights
Templar Magazine and WV Representative to the Grand Encampment College
of Honors for the past 10 years.
